Whatever happened to 91FM's first studios, "The Barn?"
Former 91 FM DJ Mike Rogers (now at KTOK-AM) sent us a photo of "The Barn" in its new home. There's no Coke machine or a volleyball pit nearby, but you can Click here to find out where it is standing now.
If you have a special 91FM photo to share, please contact us at the bottom of the page.

From Missa Eva
This week we lost our own General Manger Greg Griffin after years of battling cancer. Many of you remember hearing him on the air with different announcements about the status of the station or during Shar a thon or Don't Dance with the Devil. You may even remember that he was the last 91FM voice heard on KOKF when it switched to Air One. I think it was hugely appropriate that he was the last voice heard because his heart and soul was so wrapped up in 91FM.
Those of us that saw Greg behind the scenes know how different Greg was. He had an interesting way of looking at things and a mind full of some of the most bizarre facts and figures, facts from science to
politics and everything in between.
He moved quietly throughout the station and more then once he caught us DJs singing at the top of our lungs or doing something stupid. We also saw his love for his wife Karen. To say that they had an enduring love is almost an understatement. Their dedication to each other was such an inspiration. I pray that we all find such love.
But I think the most important thing about Greg was his love for his Father God. His childlike amazement at the creativity of God. Just a couple of weeks before he passed I sat and listened as he explained scientific discoveries that yet again prove how FANTASTIC God is. With eyes misty he explained such a loving and creative God. He truly loved Christ with everything in him and through that love he wanted to tell as many people as possible.
Greg truly believed in reaching the unloved. When he talked about getting the youth and those in alternative lifestyles he DEEPLY meant it. More then once I saw him cry for souls and reaching the lost. He was willing to do whatever he could to make it happen. So, now you know why he loved 91FM. He saw it reach the unreachable and the unloveable and to the last day of KOKF he was amazed at how God used such a station to reach those that would have NEVER heard the Gospel.
I am jealous of your Greg Griffin. You are now in the presence of a truly mighty and loving God. I will see you again....cancer free and unravaged by such a horrible disease. Thank you Greg for being dedicated to what God had told you to do and for allowing me to be a part of that dream. You have blessed my life and I will thank you in person some day.
love always

From Julia
To those of you who grew up listening to KOKF, please please remember Greg's family (especially Karen) in your prayers... There are SO many memories I have of Greg while working in the studio. Although he was very structured and very focused, he always had a kind word of encouragement (or as Eva recalls, some strange scientific fact or bit of fascinating information) and a plan of action to accomplish his "mission" to reach the world with this unique and wonderful station! I am sooo incredibly blessed beyond words to have had the opportunity to write my name down in the 91FM history books. Although I worked with the most amazing people, Greg was the one who ultimately gave me my chance in radio. I really believe that Greg is now truly able to see the magnitude of all his hard work here on earth and what an amazing thing to envision!!! Although sad, I am so thankful and blessed to have known Greg and am rejoicing with the rest of my 91FM family that we know exactly where Greg is right now and that he is resting in the Ultimate Rest...

90.9 FM in Now Air 1 (05.25.06)
At 5 p.m. on May 25, 2006, Air 1 Program Director David Pierce and KOKF General Manager Greg Griffin flipped the radio station to the Air 1 network. 91 FM became one of America's first Christian Top-40/Rock stations on October 31, 1985. After over 20 years of ministry in Oklahoma City, an era has ended.
It is our hope that this website will stand as a testament to the mission of a radio station that affected a generation in Oklahoma.
